A timber frame tiny house... on wheels

The rafters

It only took a day for the two of us to put up the rafters. The house is starting to look like a house now.

The frame is up

The bottom frame is complete. Jesse and I hope to get up the rafters tomorrow.

Raising the timber frame

I got a crew together to raise the timber frame. My brother, who built it, my father, and my brother-in-law. It took most of the day but we got the entire bottom frame raised. I love swinging the 'commander' hammer... at least for a couple wacks before your arms become jelly.

Completed Deck

The deck is done and without a moment to spare. I had a crew coming today to put up the frame. If I had the chance to do it again I would have gone with a plywood base but I really didn't want to use plywood in my construction.

Building the deck

After sanding and painting the frame I started the deck construction. I used 2x8 tongue and groove pine boards for the decking material. Once the house is done it will also serve as the finished floor. I drilled holes through the frame then put lags in from below. It was a bit tight under the frame but it worked pretty well.
