A timber frame tiny house... on wheels

Outside completed

The completed (99%) outer shell of the house. As you can see the wheels are removed right now. All we have to do to put them back on is unscrew the siding panel and floor panel. There is still some trim to put up and wood protection to apply but that won't happen until it gets warmer out.

Interior work

This is a view of the interior. Next we will put 2 inch rigid foam on the inside walls. We are also planning on taking off the wheels and building removable floor/wall sections so we don't have to put giant wheel wells in the middle of the house.

Siding

After covering the sides of the tiny house with the same 1/2 rigid foam I put on 1x10 tongue and groove barn boards. It was a challenge since lots of them were warped. You can never have too many clamps.

Completed roof

The roof is complete (at least 99%). We also got the first two windows in. A nice skylight centered on what will be the main living area and a small kitchen window you can see on the back wall.

The roof

I spent the next week working on the roof. I put 2x4 purlins between the 3x5 rafters so we would have something to screw the metal roof on. First I covered the roof with 1/2 rigid foam so there would be a continous layer.
