A timber frame tiny house... on wheels
When we originally hired the plumber he suggested we put the propane water heater outside of the main section of the house. We decided to build something similar to the shed Kevin Rose built on the tongue of his tiny house the Gypsy Rose. Our shed is smaller in size but just right for our equipment (according to the code for the water heater). We have the main water coming in under the tongue/shed floor. It goes to the pre-charged pressure tank and then to the house plumbing and the Bosch Aquastar water heater.
In order to keep this room warm in the winter time I cut a hole through the bathroom wall and installed a through-the-wall fan. The fan is hooked up to a temperature gauge that turn it on when the shed is below 50 degrees. I still have to install an air intake. Since it has warmed up a bit I've just been keeping the door open to feed the heater.
