A timber frame tiny house... on wheels

Birthday Cake

This past weekend my wife and I took some time off from working on the house. We took a trip up to Sullivan, Maine to visit her family. Jen's mother made her a tiny house cake to celebrate her birthday. The cake was made to look just like our house. It even has Jack, our dog, and Lucy, our chicken. It not only looked great but tasted amazing!

Kitchen Counter

The kitchen sink is in and operational. We put in a temporary counter while my brother builds us the permanent counter. Right now the counter measures 2 ft x 6 ft with the sink in right below the window. It is wonderful to be able to wash some dishes and do some cooking.

Utility Shed

When we originally hired the plumber he suggested we put the propane water heater outside of the main section of the house. We decided to build something similar to the shed Kevin Rose built on the tongue of his tiny house the Gypsy Rose.

bathroom door

The bathroom door is up and sliding back and forth. We decided to go with a 'pocket door'. Although there is no pocket for it to sit in this made the most sense to us due to the placement of the Sun-Mar composting toilet. I had my brother who built the timber frame build the door. It looks beautiful and slides wonderfully.

The Bed

The built-in bed frame is done. I ripped 2x4s in half to keep the weight and the costs down. The plan is to build six 28" deep drawers below the bed. I have some old rough sawn cherry wood that I hope to use as the face for the drawer system.
